I can not believe that I have already had to turn down three guest for August! We are staying booked up and it is so much fun! So many people call and book after having attended a party here the wkend before...that is a huge compliment! I am enjoying all of my parties but the surprise parties are still the best! I need to say thank you to my sweet husband for meeting my guest to show the cottage for me while I have been recovering from my fall. You are the best hon but I'll be back in no time and I want my cottage back!

Well, one wrong step and I have a broken leg, broken ankle and foot! Not the easiest thing to go through but.... wth lots of help and a couple of hours of surgery I am good as new! Only 6 more weeks in a wheelchair! Say lots of prayers for me!

The cottage is going strong! We now have an opening on Sunday mornings for a church group meeting, if anyone is interested, just let me know!

The neighborhood had a "cookie swap" one Saturday and although it wasn't a huge crowd a few more people got introduced to the cottage. I love it when the neighbors enjoy my place.

Well, time to prop the leg up! Spread the word for Lacey Cottage!!!!

January has been such a busy month at the cottage. I was contacted by a minister who will begin next week having Sunday morning services here - what a great idea! I have had so many parties this month - mostly birthdays and most of them were surprises! I never get tired of the surprises!

You all remember my friend Holly. She had the family reunion for her uncle, who was suffering from cancer. She ended up in the hospital herself and missed the party but her sister took over and made it all happen. They are also the ones that left me the beautiful handsewn Christening dress for display at the cottage... Holly called last night and said that her uncle passed away and they would like to hold a service for him at the cottage. She said that her aunt said that they had enjoyed their time with family at the cottage so much that she wanted to gather together once again. I am so glad that they have those memories. Holly, I am so sorry for this loss, he was very blessed to have such a big loving family.

I will be posting some pics soon - we have done lots of new things that I need to show you! Until then...

I would like to thank you all for supporting Lacey Cottage this year! I must say that with all of the parties I have had, I have not had ONE problem! I have worked with the nicest people and have had so much fun hearing stories about all of the parties! (Especially the one where the wife told her husband they were attending a baby shower for a girl she worked with and he did not know until his family popped out of the big room and yelled "surprise!" that the party was actually for him!) So many kids celebrated birthdays - one morning Snow White and Cinderella both dropped by! We helped 5 different people celebrate retirements that were well deserved! Oh, and all of the graduation parties!!! We had dances with djs or live bands - we even had a juke box once! We have had anywhere from 2 people having an anniversary dinner to 99 people here enjoying an evening with friends! I knew that it would be interesting owning this cottage but I never dreamed how much fun it would be! I see people at their best - happy and ready to celebrate something wonderful!
I know 2010 will bring many more new friends through my doors and I hope the cottage will have lots of repeat business - I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and peace and blessings for the new year!
